For Premiere Pro 2022 or later. Start your 7 day free trial first, then click Sign in in the panel with the same email, or paste the licence key from your purchase email.
Prefer a ZXP installer? Download ScriptCutter.zxp (Mac and Windows) and drag it onto a free ZXP installer such as the aescripts ZXP Installer. Use one way, not both.
Unzip the download and double click the installer inside it.
Quit Premiere Pro completely, then open it again.
Open Window › Extensions › Script Cutter. Click Sign in and use the email you bought with, or paste the licence key from your purchase email.
On a Mac, if macOS says the installer was “Not Opened”, open System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. On Windows, double click the Setup file; if Windows says it protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway. The first time an audio step runs, Script Cutter downloads its own copy of ffmpeg (about 30 MB) to read audio. Windows support is new: if anything to do with audio fails, email support@backtime.tools and we will fix it or refund you.

Questions, answered
Is there a free version?
There is a 7 day free trial on every plan, with every tool open. Gumroad takes your card when the trial starts and charges it when the 7 days end; cancel from your receipt before then and you pay nothing. Script Cutter does not work without a subscription or a running trial.
What do I need to run it?
Premiere Pro 2022 or later, on a Mac or on Windows. Script Cutter lives inside Premiere as a panel (Window › Extensions › Script Cutter), so there is no other app to learn.
Do I need an OpenAI or Anthropic account, or API keys?
No. Transcription and the AI tools come with your plan. There is nothing to sign up for at an AI company and no second bill. Your plan has a monthly allowance, shown in the panel and on your account page, and it resets on the 1st.
What happens if I use up my allowance?
Nothing is charged. The AI simply waits for the 1st, and everything that does not need AI keeps working. You can still import a transcript Premiere made itself and cut with it.
Is my footage uploaded anywhere?
Your video never leaves your computer. Silence trimming, split screen layouts and stem separation run on your own machine. Only transcription and the AI tools send anything out: the audio of a clip you transcribe, and text such as the transcript and your script. None of it is kept once the reply comes back.
Will it change my timeline without asking?
No. Cuts are shown to you first and nothing touches the timeline until you press apply. Chapters, callouts, graphic cards and captions are proposed for you to review, change and place yourself.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
Every plan starts with 7 days free through Gumroad. Gumroad takes your card but charges nothing until the trial ends. Cancel from your receipt before then and you pay nothing. During the trial every tool is open, whichever plan you picked, with 5 hours of transcription and an AI allowance.
How do I sign in, or use Script Cutter on another computer?
Click Sign in in the panel and use the email you bought with: we email you a link, no password. Your plan comes with you. Your account page lists every computer you are signed in on, and you can sign one out there. One plan is for one editor.
I bought a plan. Where is my licence key?
In your Gumroad receipt email. You do not need it if you sign in with the same email, but it still works: in the panel, choose I have a licence key and paste it.
Can I cancel, or get a refund?
Cancel or change plan from your Gumroad receipt at any time, and keep access to the end of the period you paid for. Not right for you? Email support@backtime.tools within 30 days for a full refund.
